Call for applications: 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Master Planning Committee

The Office of the Chancellor is currently seeking for several positions on the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Master Planning Committee.

The committee implements and updates the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Campus Master Plan and advises the chancellor regarding the long-term vision for 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø's physical campus. Committee members play a key role in shaping 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø's physical environment, including building sites, land use, landscaping, lighting and outdoor research facilities.

Members of the committee are expected to consider the needs of the entire university mission while representing the specific experiences of their respective units or regions. Student members serve for a single year, while employee and community members serve for three years. The following are the open positions available:

  • Student (undergraduate or graduate) —  2  seats
  • Academic representation —  2  seats 
  • Research representation — 1  seat 
  • Community member — 1  seat 
  • Governance Coordination Committee — 1  seat
  • Student recreation or athletics — 1  seat
  • University Advancement — 1  seat 
  • Center for Student Engagement — 1  seat

Commitment and responsibilities

  • Meetings: The committee typically meets every other month during the academic year (and as-needed during the summer).
  • Scope: Members review proposals for building attachments, parking changes, signage, agricultural reserve modifications and more.
  • Subcommittees: Members may also have the opportunity to serve on standing subcommittees, such as North Campus or Campus Landscape and Outdoor Artwork.
