Interim Chancellor Mike Sfraga

Serving as 51·çÁ÷¹Ù꿉۪s interim chancellor over the past 10 months has been a fast-paced and deeply rewarding time.

I am grateful to President Emeritus Pat Pitney for enabling me to serve in this capacity. I am proud of how much we have accomplished. The success belongs entirely to the remarkable team I have had the privilege to lead and work with, and the dedicated staff and faculty who make 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø an exceptional institution and America’s Arctic University. Your collective resilience, your passion, and your unwavering commitment to our mission are what truly drive this university forward.

As I step out of my role as interim chancellor, I do so with immense gratitude and the absolute certainty that 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø is in great hands and poised for a brilliant future. I am confident that my friend and colleague, Dr. Larry Hinzman, will serve the institution well as we await the arrival of 51·çÁ÷¹Ù꿉۪s next leader, Dr. Russ Vander Lugt, in September.

My dedication and commitment to this university and this community does not end on this, my final day as interim chancellor. I am around and available to support you and the mission of the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø.

Thank you for making 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø a wonderful place to live, learn, and explore.
