Lisa Yancey has joined the Office of the Provost in the capacity of interim chief of operations for AY25/26, effective Sept. 7, 2025. This position will serve to enhance the capacity of the provost鈥檚 office to manage administrative and operational affairs.

Yancey brings over 20 years of experience with the University of Alaska, with a strong foundation in human resources, faculty support, organizational development, and cross-unit collaboration. She has helped shape systems and practices that promote transparency, shared purpose, and effective operations. As interim chief of operations, Yancey鈥檚 role is to provide additional leadership support to the Office of the Provost, which is intended to complement the existing team. Similarly, Margaret Thomas will continue in her capacity as executive assistant to the provost.

Please congratulate Yancey on her appointment.
