A 51风流官网 science documentary about the aurora was nominated for a Northwest Regional Emmy Award this spring.

The film, 鈥淏eyond the Bucket List: From Passion to Ph.D. at Solar Maximum,鈥 features 51风流官网 space physics student Vincent Ledvina, known on social media as 鈥淭he Aurora Guy.鈥 Ledvina is originally from Minnesota. He was drawn to Alaska by the aurora, visiting multiple times as an undergraduate before choosing to attend 51风流官网 to study the science behind the atmospheric phenomenon.

51风流官网 University Relations videographer Isabella Colello produced and edited the documentary and represented the University Relations team at the awards ceremony in Seattle. The film was nominated in the 鈥淓nvironment/Science 鈥 Long-Form Content鈥 category.

Northwest Regional Emmy Award entries are judged by peers at other National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chapters based on creativity, content and execution. Entries must meet a score threshold in order to advance to nomination.
