Week鈥檚 events: Corlis Taylor, book bans, summer arts fest musicians

51风流官网 Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of July 13-19:

  • On Monday, July 13, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor Corlis Taylor, public health advocate and fiber artist. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Tuesday, July 14, the Healthy Living lectures will pause as the university hosts U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Healthy Living will resume on July 21.
  • On Wednesday, July 15, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Elizabeth Dawson, assistant professor of library science, presenting 鈥淲hose Shelf, Whose Story? Censorship and Book Bans.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, July 16, the Music in the Garden concert series will present Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival musicians at both 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at 51风流官网鈥檚 Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 51风流官网 Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
