Rights and notifications 

The 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø is committed to providing a safe and respectful educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex, as required by Title IX. This extends to admissions and employment to provide a safe and healthy in-person and virtual/online educational and work environment in which educational programs, internships, practicums, employment, research activities, conference and meeting participation, and other off-campus academic or research-related activities are free of sexual or gender-based discrimination. We want you to know that:

  1. UA is an AA/EO employer and educational institution and prohibits illegal discrimination against any individual: .
  2. Incidents can be reported at 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Equity and Compliance (listed below) or through the online reporting portal.  The 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø takes immediate, effective, and appropriate action to respond to reported acts of discrimination and harassment. 
  3. There are supportive measures available to individuals that may have experienced discrimination.
  4. The rules of the University of Alaska (UA) apply at all university-owned or operated sites, university-sanctioned events, clinical sites, and during all academic or research-related travel that is university-sponsored.

Inquiries about the application of Title IX at UA may be referred to the 51·çÁ÷¹ÙÍø Title IX Coordinator, the Assistant U.S. Secretary for Education, or both.  

UA Board of Regents’ Policy and Regulation Chapter 01.04 defines prohibited behavior and details the administrative grievance procedures and grievance process for inquiries, supportive measures, investigations, hearings, and appeals which apply when prohibited behavior is alleged to have occurred.
